refers to the use of Botulinum toxin type A, a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, for cosmetic purposes.

Aesthetic Botox is primarily used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause these wrinkles.

Following are the procedure steps:

1. Consultation: Meet with a licensed medical professional (e.g., dermatologist, plastic surgeon) to discuss your goals, medical history, and any potential risks.

The professional will assess your facial muscles and determine the appropriate injection sites and dosage.

2. Preparation: Clean the injection sites with an antiseptic solution to prevent infection.

Sometimes, a topical anesthetic or ice may be applied to numb the area and reduce discomfort.

3. Injection: The professional uses a fine needle to inject small amounts of Botox into the targeted facial muscles. Common areas include the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and between the eyebrows (glabellar lines).

4. Post-Injection: Avoid rubbing or massaging the injection sites to prevent the spread of the toxin to unintended areas.

Stay upright for several hours following the procedure. Avoid strenuous activities, alcohol, and certain medications (e.g., blood thinners) for a day or two.

5. Follow-Up: Effects typically start to become noticeable within 3 to 7 days, with full results visible after about two weeks.

Results last approximately 3 to 6 months, after which the procedure can be repeated as needed.

Follow-up appointments may be scheduled to assess results and make any necessary adjustments.
