Aesthetic laser vein removal is a medical procedure that utilizes focused laser energy to treat and eliminate unwanted veins, such as spider veins and small varicose veins, on the face and body.

Laser vein removal works by delivering pulses of laser light into the vein. The light is absorbed by the blood in the vein, causing the vein to heat up and collapse. Over time, the treated vein is reabsorbed by the body and disappears. The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis and does not require anesthesia, though a topical numbing cream may be used to enhance comfort.

Here are some common types as below:

Following are the procedure steps:

1. Consultation: The patient consults with a qualified dermatologist or vascular specialist to determine if they are a suitable candidate for laser vein removal.

A thorough medical history and examination of the veins are conducted.

2. Preparation: The treatment area is cleaned and, if necessary, a topical anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort. Protective eyewear is provided to shield the eyes from the laser light.

3. Laser Treatment: The laser device is adjusted to the appropriate settings for the patient's skin type and vein condition.

The laser handpiece is placed on the skin over the vein, delivering pulses of light. Patients may feel a snapping sensation as the laser fires.

Multiple veins can be treated in one session, and the duration depends on the number and size of the veins being treated.

4. Post-Treatment: The treated area may appear red or swollen immediately after the procedure, but these effects typically subside within a few hours to days.

Patients are advised to avoid sun exposure, strenuous exercise, and hot baths for a few days post-treatment.

Compression stockings may be recommended to aid in healing and improve results.

5. Follow-Up: Multiple sessions may be required to achieve optimal results, depending on the severity of the vein condition.

Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor progress and address any concerns.
